Jamaica: Judicial Writing Workshop

From March 21 - 22, NCSC hosted a workshop in Kingston, Jamaica on Improving Written and Oral Decisions for 23 judges of the Jamaican Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

The overall goal of the training, facilitated by an NCSC expert team led by NCSC Judicial Fellow Judge Gregory Mize, was to assist Jamaican trial and appellate judges in rendering clear, concise, and timely judgments from the bench by enhancing skills for organizing, preparing, and delivering written and oral rulings.

The workshop was hosted as part of NCSC’s ongoing work under the Justice Sector Assistance to the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative program funded by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.
