Jamaica: Trial Advocacy Workshop

In August 2015, the U.S. State Department Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), NCSC, and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), conducted its second training under a regional trial advocacy training series in Kingston, Jamaica.

The training is part of ongoing efforts to improve the prosecutorial capacity of the Caribbean region and to ensure the continued strengthening of the rule of law.

Trial Advocacy workshops will continue throughout the region culminating in a Training of Trainers workshop scheduled for spring 2016, and a Regional Trial Advocacy Competition. The program is part of INL’s Justice Sector Assistance Program to Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI) Countries, a program implemented by NCSC.
