Kosovo: Support of the Kosovo Chamber of Advocates

Three DLA Piper New Perimeter experts, Professor Sheldon Krantz, Kathy J. Owen and Peter Lindau arrived in Kosovo on June 12, 2012 with the objective to gather information in order to:

  • Provide targeted recommendations for improvement of the disciplinary system and introduction of disciplinary mechanisms in the MCLE system.
  • Develop draft training materials for ethics training for lawyers.
  • Deliver training on curriculum development and the use of teaching methodology to targeted Kosovo Chamber of Advocates (KCA) MCLE trainers.

Highlights of the visit included the delivery of two trainings, multiple meetings with leading lawyers and staff of the KCA and attendance at an ethics training delivered by local KCA trainers.

New Perimeter is a nonprofit organization established by global law firm DLA Piper to provide pro bono legal assistance primarily in the developing and post-conflict world.

Teaching methodology trainings were delivered to targeted KCA trainers in the NCSC offices on June 14 and 15, 2012.
