Serbia: Misdemeanor Court Case Management System

Between October and December 2015, the Judicial Reform and Government Accountability (JRGA) Project in Serbia finalized the country’s misdemeanor court case management system software (known in Serbia by its acronym, SIPRES).

The final version of the software, which covers all steps in both first and second instance misdemeanor procedures, was released and made universally accessible to all Misdemeanor Courts and the Appellate Misdemeanor Court.

Following the roll out, the JRGA Project has provided intensive capacity building, delivering 112 training days to almost 1,200 Misdemeanor Court staff, in an effort to enable full utilization of the system’s functionalities. As of December 30, 2015, there are as many as 1 900 000 cases entered into the SIPRES database.

The JRGA Project supports justice sector professionals and civil society to advance reforms, build capacity, and model innovation to strengthen the Rule of Law and ensure government transparency. For more information, please visit www.jrga.org.
