Tunisia: Improving Court Administration

On February 19, 2016, NCSC was awarded a new two-year cooperative agreement by the Department of State’s Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs to assist the Tunisian Ministry of Justice and courts in improving court administration. Building upon the findings of a comprehensive assessment conducted by NCSC and the International Legal Assistance Consortium (ILAC) in 2015, the program will address key vulnerabilities and systemic inefficiencies that undermine the capacity of Tunisian courts to function efficiently, to guarantee access to justice for all, and to respond to the needs of citizens. The program will harmonize policies and procedures, institutionalize modern forms and work methods, and promote intra-institutional collaboration to improve the management of courts and administration of judicial services for the benefit of Tunisian citizens.
