September 2019 Tunisia Administrative Tribunal

In June and July 2019, NCSC supported the Administrative Tribunal to improve communications between court personnel and court users. On June 25, 2019, the Administrative Tribunal convened its third coordination and problem-solving workshop on the topic of citizen information. During the workshop, participants learned about the values of procedural fairness and the importance of creating an environment in which users feel heard, are treated with respect, understand the process, and perceive neutrality. Participants worked in small groups to develop concrete proposals to address communication shortcomings and improve court user information and orientation during the life of their case. Following the workshop, 35 clerks attended communication skills trainings organized in July to enhance their ability to convey court-related information to court users and handle difficult situations. Additional training is anticipated in future months.

The Improving Court Administration at the Administrative Tribunal is implemented by NCSC under a sub-award with the International Legal Assistance Consortium and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
